After falling behind 5-1, the Muhlenberg baseball team threatened to tie Dickinson in each of the last two innings but came up a run short in the finale of a home-and-home series.
The Mules plated their first run in the top of the seventh on a single by sophomore
Sean Habeeb and closed to within 5-2 on a sacrifice fly by sophomore
Thomas Rorick in the eighth. Rorick, who homered in Tuesday's 21-9 win against the Red Devils, narrowly missed another round-tripper on his sac fly, driving the ball to the fence.
Sophomore
Marius Haughton walked to lead off the ninth and went to second on a single by Habeeb, his third hit of the game. After a double steal, sophomore
Jason Hughes (pictured above) brought Muhlenberg to within one on a two-run single. A fly out and a double play ended the game, however.
Sophomore
Jason Ugalde and junior
Frank Kern combined to hold Dickinson to five hits. Kern tossed the final four innings, allowing only one hit.
