The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team could not solve the Swarthmore goalie and fell in the first round of the Centennial Conference playoffs, 16-4.
At halftime, the Mules (10-8) held a 27-26 advantage in shots but trailed 8-2 due to 14 saves by the Garnet goalie.
Muhlenberg was in striking distance at 5-2 late in the first half, but Swarthmore (11-7) scored three times in the final 1:23 of the second quarter and added the first four goals of the third to build an insurmountable lead.
Of the Mule seniors playing for the last time,
Michael Drago went 11-of-21 on faceoffs and tied his season high of nine ground balls, while
Thomas Olifiers caused a turnover and picked up a pair of ground balls.
The loss ended a season in which Muhlenberg reached double digits in victories and earned a CC playoff berth for the fourth straight season.
