The Muhlenberg Mules welcomed the No. 23 Haverford Fords to Jeff Morris `82 Field and fell 17-5 on a rather warm Wednesday afternoon.
The Fords got on the board within the games' first minute and never looked back, finishing the first 15 minutes with a 5-1 advantage and entering halftime up 8-2. Freshman
Taylor Dzama struck first for the Mules to open the scoring in the second half with her second goal of the game, but the visitors picked up where they left off shortly afterwards en route to the 12-goal victory.
For the Mules, it's their fourth loss in their last five games and fourth straight in conference action. Despite receiving votes in the most recent IWLCA poll, Muhlenberg is on the brink of elimination from the Centennial Conference playoff race; the Mules will have to win their final three games to have a chance at the fifth and final seed. The five teams that currently occupy the top five seeds (Swarthmore, Washington College, Haverford, F&M, and Gettysburg) are all tied with a 4-1 record. Muhlenberg first takes on Ursinus in Collegeville before welcoming Dickinson and F&M to close out the season.
