The Muhlenberg baseball team trailed by nine runs before it ever came to bat and wound up losing a non-conference game to DeSales, 22-7. 

Six more runs in the second by the Bulldogs (22-10), who are 33rd in the NCAA's Division III selection rankings, made it 15-1. The Mules (9-19) closed to within 15-7 before getting blanked over the final four innings.

Sophomore Jason Hughes had two hits, including a two-run double, and senior Thomas Pranzo drove in two runs with a double and a groundout.

Senior JJ Foti doubled to lead off the second, igniting a five-run inning, while sophomore Joe Zito hit a pinch-hit double in the sixth. Freshman Joey Georgiou came off the bench to hit two singles, one that brought in two runs, and steal two bases.

One of nine Muhlenberg pitchers, grad student James Hopke (pictured above) worked a scoreless, hitless fourth.
