The Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team broke open a close game in the second half and went on to a 13-6 win at Juniata.
The win was the 200th in the career of Mule head coach
Kristen Stuckel. She is the ninth coach in college history, and the first in women's lacrosse, to reach 200 wins in one sport. Since starting her career at Muhlenberg in 2001, Stuckel has a career record of 200-159.
Just like wins 198 and 199, defense paved the way for the milestone victory. The Mules (8-1) allowed only 12 shots while forcing 27 turnovers in holding their third straight opponent to six goals or fewer.
Senior
Jillian Kubikowski reached her own milestone, surpassing 150 career points with a four-goal, one-assist effort. With Muhlenberg leading 3-2, she assisted senior
Emily Vaughan at the halfway point of the second quarter, scored a goal 23 seconds later, and added another tally with 4:33 on the clock to make in 6-2.
The Eagles (2-6) netted a goal just before halftime and were still within three midway through the third quarter before the Mules went on a 6-1 run, with junior
Ava Milia scoring back-to-back goals and sophomore
Emma Youngling putting in all three Muhlenberg goals of the fourth quarter.
Vaughan added 6 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers to her pair of goals. Youngling also filled the stat sheet, complementing her hat trick with 6 draw controls, 4 ground balls, and 3 caused turnovers.
Senior
Melissa Pierpont caused a pair of turnovers and picked up her 100th career ground ball.
The Mules set a school record with their seventh road win of the season and are now 7-0 away from home this year and 11-1 over the last two campaigns.
