Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Falls to No. 18 Cortland

Despite quick starts in both halves, the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team lost at home to 18th-ranked Cortland, 10-7.

The Mules (4-4) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 7:02 on goals by seniors Tyler Kitchen and Ben Falch, both assisted by senior Nolan DiSora (pictured above).

Muhlenberg scored only one more time the rest of the half, however, and went into the break trailing, 6-3.

Junior Michael Drago won the opening faceoff of the second half and passed to sophomore Jack Bill for a goal with just 7 seconds elapsed. Sophomore Patrick Crawley scored from a tough angle a little more than three minutes later to bring the Mules to within one.

Again the Red Dragons (6-1) closed the door, allowing only one goal in the next 17 minutes while scoring four of their own to open up a 10-6 advantage. Sophomore Chase Kusko put in his second goal with 9:39 remaining to make the score 10-7, but there was no more scoring the rest of the game.

Junior Max Kunnath made 10 saves at the back of a defense that held in check a Cortland team that had averaged 15.0 goals in its previous five games. Sophomore Brendan Boyd caused 3 turnovers and picked up 4 ground balls, and junior Luke Schwartzberg scooped up 5 ground balls.
