The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team outscored Scranton 9-2 in the second half to pull away for a 13-6 win.
On a chilly night at Scotty Wood Stadium, the Mules (1-1) put the Scranton offense into a long deep freeze. After the Royals (0-2) scored three straight goals to tie the game at 4-4 just over five minutes into the second period, they did not score again for more than 28 minutes.
By then Muhlenberg had reeled off seven straight goals, including three by sophomore
Jack Bill, to take a commanding lead.
Junior
Jace Riley Day made 11 saves, including 10 in the second half, to earn his first career win.
Sophomores
Daniel Friedel and
Chase Kusko and senior
Nolan DiSora netted a pair of goals apiece, while senior Ben Falch and freshman
Aidan Fairweather both scored their first career goal.
In addition to causing a pair of turnovers, sophomore
Brendan Boyd assisted on Kusko's empty-net goal in the closing seconds for his first career point.
