The Muhlenberg men's basketball team fell 61-52 at Penn State Harrisburg Saturday afternoon to close out its pre-winter break schedule.
The Mules and the Lions entered halftime tied at 26 thanks in part to a strong performance from
Jack Woodard (

The highlight of his afternoon was a smooth turnaround mid-range jumpshot that rattled in and started a personal 7-0 Woodard run just before the stoppage. The sophomore forward would go on to finish the game with a team-high 15 points on five-of-seven from the field.
Over the latter stages of the second half, Penn State Harrisburg pulled away, eventually taking its largest lead of the game at 55-43 with just under five minutes to go. A few minutes later, a couple of made free throws, a
Peter Stanton-Shepherd and-one layup off of a missed free throw, and a
Drew Greene layup cut the deficit to just five with 27 seconds remaining. However, the visitors could edge no closer than that.
Arinze Achufusi scored 13 points and was the only Mule to reach double figures in scoring aside from Woodard. Stanton-Shepherd continued his excellent play on the defensive end, hauling in nine rebounds in addition to recording two blocks and a steal.
