The Muhlenberg men's basketball team did not make a field goal in the final five minutes and had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 71-61 loss at Neumann.
The Mules (4-3) trailed by 10 points before ending the first half on a 34-10 to take a 43-29 lead at the break. Muhlenberg made nine straight field goals in one stretch, including four by sophomore
Jack Woodard and three by freshman
Nathan Comerford.
Sophomore
Drew Buck made a three-pointer on the Mules' first possession of the second half, extending the margin to 17 points.
Down 10 midway through the second half, the Knights (5-3) went on a 9-0 run to cut the gap to one, then took the lead at 58-57 with 5:34 left.
Senior
Nate Hoffman (pictured above) hit a three on the next possession for a 60-58 lead, but the Mules managed only one point the rest of the game. Neumann finished on a 13-1 run.
Woodard tied the career high he set Saturday against DeSales with 15 points, while Comerford, who came in with six points all season, finished with 10.
