The Muhlenberg Mules held the visiting Lancaster Bible Chargers to just 19% from the field en route to a convincing 71-32 victory Wednesday evening.
The Mules jumped on the opposition early, taking a 22-3 lead midway through the first quarter. They would extend that advantage to 42-17 going into half, thanks to a balanced effort, as no player had more than nine of those 42 points.
Avery McNulty led the team with nine points in the first half on three-of-five from deep and finished the game just short of the team lead with 11 points.
Linzy Roberson bested her with 13 points in addition to nabbing two steals. Roberson provided the play of the game when she drove baseline, crossed over her defender, and scooted by for the open layup.
Nobody played more than 20 minutes for Muhlenberg during this game, but
Caitlyn D'Addieco made her presence felt during her limited action, nabbing a team-high 10 rebounds. Six of those boards came on the offensive glass.
While the regulars exited for the final time midway through the third quarter, Muhlenberg played excellent defense throughout; the hosts held the visitors to just 15 points over the final 20 minutes.
This was the first-ever matchup between these two programs. With the win, Muhlenberg moves to 18-0 all-time against schools currently in the United East Conference.
