The Muhlenberg baseball team split its final two games in Florida, defeating RIT (10-3) before losing to Keystone (15-2).

A game after getting only one hit in a loss to The College of New Jersey, the Mules (4-8) hit up and down the order against RIT. Seven of the nine starting hitters had at least one hit, and eight drove in at least one run.

Muhlenberg broke open a scoreless game with a four-run fourth. Sophomore Thomas Pranzo dunked a single into left to bring in the first run, and the Mules added three more on a bases-loaded walk, groundout and single by junior Aidan Legner.

Another four-run frame in the seventh featured RBI singles by junior Brendan Hughes, sophomore Mason Mehling and freshman Spencer Hobson. Pranzo scored the fourth run of the inning on a wild pitch (pictured above).

Freshman Marc Quarrie, who went 3-for-4, and Mehling added RBI singles in the eighth as the Mules scored in double digits for the first time this season.

 Legner reached base in all five of his plate appearances, drawing four walks.

Senior Ryan Friesen pitched five scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season, and junior Ethan Brochin worked the last four innings for his second save. Friesen allowed only three hits and struck out five, getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth with an inning-ending double play.

Mehling had a pair of hits in the Keystone game, including a two-run single in the fourth that brought in both of Muhlenberg's runs. Down 7-0 at one point, the Mules got the tying run to the on-deck circle in the fifth before the Giants pulled away in the late innings.
