The Muhlenberg women's soccer team outscored Bryn Mawr, 3-1, for its first Centennial Conference win of the season.
The Mules opened the scoring late in the first half after freshman
Rose Larner was fouled about 25 yards from the goal. Graduate student
Bri Astbury took the free kick and curled it into the top-left corner of the net, over the outstretched arms of the Bryn Mawr goalie, for her second career goal.
Another free kick gave Muhlenberg its second goal, early in the second half. This time it was senior
Sara Pecorelli drawing the foul about 35 yards out in the center of the field. Senior
Abigail Trimble tucked her long kick under the crossbar. The Owls goalie got a piece of it, but not enough to keep it out, and Trimble
(pictured above) had her first career goal.
Unlike the first two goals, the third one featured plenty of passing after Astbury won a ball in the Mules' end of the field. She passed it to freshman
Stella Del Sordo, who one-timed it to
Anna May. The junior took a couple of dribbles before passing it ahead to cutting sophomore
Ivy Dias at the top of the box. Dias finished for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
The three goals were the most scored by the Mules in a CC game since 2019.
Bryn Mawr spoiled the shutout bid by scoring in the final three minutes. Sophomore
Megan Stairs made seven saves, including five in the second half, in the winning effort.
