The Muhlenberg field hockey nearly erased a four-goal deficit but came up short at Ursinus, 4-3.
The Mules (4-4, 1-1) faced a big deficit after the 15th-ranked Bears (5-3, 2-1) scored twice in the first quarter and twice in the second quarter. It was still 4-0 after three quarters, but just 1:53 into the fourth, sophomore
Abba Diglio scored off a pass from sophomore
Erin DiSandro to break up the shutout. It was the fifth time Diglio and DiSandro connected on a goal in the last four games.
With 2:03 left, DiSandro scored on a penalty corner to make it 4-2, and Diglio added her second goal of the game in the closing seconds. It was the third career multiple-goal game for Diglio, who has now scored a goal in five consecutive games.Â
Junior

(pictured above) recorded her second defensive save of the season in the second quarter.
