Returning to the site where it won the Centennial Conference championship last year, the Muhlenberg softball team was swept at Swarthmore.
The Garnet (18-16, 6-8) won the opener, 8-6, in a game that featured seven half-innings in which two runs were scored. The Mules (13-22, 4-10) scored twice in the third, fifth and sixth.
Freshman
Maddy Svenningsen was in the middle of all three Muhlenberg rallies with an RBI double in the third, an RBI double in the fifth and a sacrifice fly in the sixth. The two doubles gave her 13 for the season; only two Mules have ever hit more.

In the second game, Swarthmore scored five runs in the third and went on to win, 9-1.
Muhlenberg scored its lone run in the top of the sixth when Cicchetti singled through the left side, advanced to second on a short wild pitch and came all the way around to score on Svenningsen's infield single. Hulsen
