The Muhlenberg softball team suffered its second straight doubleheader loss, dropping a pair at Ursinus.

The Mules (12-14, 3-5) fell into an early 4-0 hole in the first inning of the opener and played from behind the whole game, eventually falling 10-2. Sophomore Kaya Mahy went 2-for-2 with a double and scored both Muhlenberg runs.

Muhlenberg trailed 2-0 with two innings to go in the nightcap before tying the game with aggressive baserunning. After Mahy led off the sixth with a single, junior Sophia Cicchetti put down a bunt that was thrown away by the Ursinus pitcher. Mahy scooted around to third, and when Cicchetti got in a rundown between first and second, Mahy broke for the plate, sliding in safely. Cicchetti then scored the tying run on a wild pitch, but the Bears (20-9, 5-2) scored twice in the bottom of the inning and won, 4-2.
