A second-quarter surge was the difference as the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team fell at Haverford, 19-14.

The Fords (6-3, 2-0), who have been ranked in the top 25 this season, scored six goals in the first 5:36 of the second quarter to turn a 5-3 lead into an 11-5 advantage. The Mules (7-2, 0-2) got within four goals three separate times in the remaining time but could not get any closer.

Junior Nicole Steiner (pictured above) tied a career high with 6 points on 5 goals and an assist. Freshman Ava Milia netted three goals for her sixth hat trick of the season, while senior Emily Gaffney and sophomore Jillian Kubikowski scored a pair of goals apiece.

Sophomore Emily Vaughan contributed 3 points, 4 caused turnovers and 6 draw controls.
