A second-half scoring drought turned the tide as the Muhlenberg women's basketball fell at home to Johns Hopkins, 60-42.
The Mules (7-9, 6-5) rallied from a 32-28 halftime deficit to tie the score at 35-all on a pair of free throws by graduate student
Margaux Eripret with 6:17 to play in the third. The Blue Jays (12-4, 9-2) ended the quarter on a 16-2 run, however, to take a 14-point lead into the final quarter.
Muhlenberg held Hopkins to nine points in the fourth quarter but could not get closer than 12 points.
The Mules went more than 10 minutes without making a field goal and finished 4-for-29 from the field in the second half against the first-place Blue Jays, who entered the game ranked ninth in Division III in scoring defense.
There were six lead changes in the first quarter, which ended with the Blue Jays up by one. Hopkins led by eight points midway through the second quarter, but sophomore
Emily Unger banked in a three in the closing seconds of the half to bring the Mules to within four.
Eripret led Muhlenberg with 15 points, and Unger finished with 9.
