The Muhlenberg softball team dropped a pair of games at Swarthmore, 5-1 and 8-4.
Freshman
Kaya Mahy drove in the Mules' lone run of the first game with a sixth-inning triple.Â
Muhlenberg jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning of the nightcap on a single by senior
Genna Cicchetti with runners on second and third. Senior
Sarah Karmazyn scored on the single, and Mahy scampered home when Cicchetti got in a rundown between first and second.
The Garnet (15-2, 4-0) scored five runs in the bottom of the inning and extended their lead to 8-2 after three innings.
The Mules (8-12, 1-3) got two runs closer in the fifth on a double by sophomore
Gillian Zack and a single by sophomore
Dara DiMaiolo - her second run-scoring hit in her last two pinch-hitting at-bats. The game was called after five innings to darkness, however.
Three days after recording her 100th career hit, Karmazyn got a start on her next 100 by going 3-for-7 in the doubleheader.
