Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Wins Seventh Straight

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team scored three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to win at Ursinus, 8-5.

Ursinus came into the game receiving 36 votes in the Division III poll, just one spot out of the top 20. The Bears (4-5) won the last Centennial Conference tournament, in 2019, and had not been held to five goals in a CC home game since 2012.

The Mules (7-2, 3-0) extended their winning streak to seven games, one short of the school record, and are 3-0 in the CC for the first time ever.

Muhlenberg kept Ursinus off the board for the final 18-and-a-half minutes. In the fourth quarter, the Mules allowed only six shots and forced one possession clock violation.

Junior Max May tied his career high for a CC game with 15 saves, including four in the fourth quarter.

Junior James Dalimonte broke a 5-all tie two minutes into the fourth quarter with his third goal of the game. The Bears won the ensuing faceoff, but after May (pictured above) saved a shot, the Mules cleared and graduate student Ethan Grossman netted his second goal to extend the lead to 7-5.

The score remained that way for most of the remaining time. Ursinus turned the ball over with less than 2:30 to play and never touched the ball again. Senior Matt Marrella netted the Mules' final goal at the 1:07 mark, and Muhlenberg won the next faceoff and ran out the clock.

Junior Jack Kraemer, whose streak of 20 straight games scoring a goal was snapped Wednesday against Swarthmore, started a new streak by scoring twice in a span of 33 seconds in the first quarter.

Junior defensive middie Andrew Sokolowski caused three turnovers, while senior Maxwell Seeber forced a pair.
