The Muhlenberg volleyball team picked up its first Centennial Conference win of the season with a 3-0 sweep at McDaniel.
The Mules (8-7, 1-2) never trailed in winning 25-14, 25-22, 25-16 to snap a three-match skid and record their first sweep at McDaniel since 2013.
Defense played a big role in the win, with Muhlenberg holding the Green Terror to .017 hitting on only 20 kills in 115 attempts. Sophomore

Muhlenberg seized control early, jumping out to a 13-4 lead in the first set in a run that includd back-to-back aces by junior
Julia Ficon. The Mules never let the Green Terror (1-10, 0-4) back in it, with Oehler's kill finishing off the set.
Although the second set was closer, Muhlenberg never trailed. Three blocks and two kills by Maguire helped stake the Mules to a 15-10 lead. McDaniel got within two late in the set at 23-21 and 24-22, but Pontrelli's kill ended the set.
The third set was 18-15 before the Mules closed on a 7-1 run, with Pontrelli winning five straight service points, to put a wrap on the match.
