The Muhlenberg men's basketball team fell into an early hole and could not recover in a 63-48 home loss to Gettysburg.
The Bullets (10-6, 6-4) scored the first 12 points of the game before a breakaway dunk by freshman
Jayson Williams-Johnson put the Mules (5-11, 2-7) on the board.Â
Muhlenberg's second basket was another dunk, this one by senior
Dallas Hoffman, but no other field-goal tries went in as Gettysburg opened up a 21-5 lead.
Behind by as many as 19 in the first half, the Mules closed to within single digits on a three-point play by sophomore
Brandon Goldberg in the final minute of the half. The Bullets hit a three on the next possession and scored the first five points on the second half, and Muhlenberg never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
Williams-Johnson (pictured above) led the Mules with 13 points. Senior
Noah Watson added 8 points, and Goldberg finished with 5 points, 5 rebounds and a pair of assists.
