The Muhlenberg field hockey team could not maintain a halftime lead and fell at Dickinson, 2-1, in its Centennial Conference opener.

The Mules (2-4, 0-1) took a 1-0 lead midway through the second quarter when sophomore Katie Raab (pictured above) punched in her team-leading third goal of the season at the far post off a penalty corner.

Muhlenberg nearly doubled its advantage in the closing minute of the first half, but a goal was disallowed. 

Held to two shots and no penalty corners in the first half, the Red Devils (2-5, 1-0) took over the momentum at the start of the third quarter, winning its first penalty corner in the first minute. Dickinson eventually tied the score four minutes into the quarter and netted the go-ahead goal off a corner with 1:30 left in the period.

The Mules earned back-to-back penalty corners late in the fourth quarter and got a shot off the second one, but it was blocked. 

Dickinson held a slight 9-8 edge in shots in the ninth consecutive one-goal game played by the two teams.
