Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's Lacrosse Seniors Make History

The Muhlenberg men's lacrosse team pulled away in the fourth quarter to win at Haverford, 15-8.

The victory gave the senior class a four-year record of 30-17, making it the winningest senior class in program history. The previous mark of 29 was set by the Class of 2008, which finished with a record of 29-27.

One of the seniors, PJ Lombara, scored three goals to record his fifth career hat trick, and junior Matt Marrella notched his second consecutive hat trick.

Despite an advantage of 46-23 in shots, the Mules (4-4) took only an 8-6 advantage into the final quarter. They extended their lead to five in the first five minutes. After Marrella and Lombara netted goals, sophomore defensive middie Andrew Sokolowski scored off a faceoff for his fifth goal in the last four games.

The Fords, playing their only game of the year, cut the gap to 11-8 before Muhlenberg netted the final four goals. Senior Dominick DiStefano (pictured above) capped the seven-goal quarter with his first goal of the season.

Sophomores Jack Kraemer and Dominick Visintin scored two goals apiece, with Kraemer adding a pair of assists. Senior Ethan Grossman recorded three assists. Freshman Jack Quinn scored his first career goal.

In addition to a goal and an assist, junior Maxwell Seeber picked up four ground balls to surpass 100 for his career. Senior Matt Burke topped 200 faceoffs won for his career, going 15-for-25 at the X.
