On an early Senior Day, it was an early score that provided a victory for the Muhlenberg field hockey team.
The Mules, who still have three home games remaining, scored in the 10th minute and held on to defeat McDaniel, 1-0, for their first Centennial Conference win of the season.
Two of the eight seniors honored prior to the game combined on the goal, with
Maleah Hess dribbling through two Green Terror defenders and into the circle before crossing to
Laura Horner, who tipped the ball in at the far post for her second goal of the season.
The rest of the game belonged to the goalies, who both made tough saves to prevent any further scoring. Muhlenberg senior
Mel Cartagena stopped four shots.
Senior back
Kasey Mitchell sealed the win by tackling the ball away from a Green Terror forward in the waning seconds.
