The Muhlenberg men's basketball team shot over 50 percent from the field and never trailed in winning at McDaniel, 75-67.
The win gave the Mules (10-3, 3-3) double digits in victories for the 37th time in the last 38 years. It's the first time since the 2001-02 season that they recorded their 10th win as early in the season as their 13th game.Â
Freshman
Justin Allen became the fifth different Muhlenberg player with a 20-point game this season, scoring a career-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Senior
Matt Gnias (15 points) and sophomore
Dan Gaines (11) also scored in double figures.
The Mules held the Green Terror (4-9, 0-6) scoreless for the final 4:34 of the first half, extending a four-point lead to nine on layups by sophomores
Nate Henty Brown and
Dallas Hoffman, plus a free throw.
McDaniel was within four points again, at 37-33, early in the second half, before Allen
(pictured above) scored five straight points to put the margin at nine. The Green Terror never got closer than seven points the rest of the way, and the lead grew to as many as 15 points.
Allen scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half and also finished with a team-high 6 rebounds.Â
