Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Downs No. 23 Haverford

Junior Jordan Segrave made a career-high 18 saves and sophomore Taliah Carson scored the winning goal as the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team scored its biggest win of the season, 13-12 at Haverford.

The Fords (6-4, 1-2) came in ranked 23rd in Division III and in their most recent game lost by one goal to sixth-ranked Franklin & Marshall. Earlier this season, Haverford defeated TCNJ when it was ranked third in the country.

The win was a landmark one for the Mules (7-3, 2-1), who had beaten nationally ranked teams before, most notably No. 1 Gettysburg in 2017, but had never downed a ranked opponent on the road.

Senior Amanda Tullo led the offense with seven points on five goals and two assists, while junior Gabriella Crivelli netted three goals for her second hat trick.

The Mules trailed 2-1 in the early going before going on a 4-0 run. They never faced a deficit again, but Haverford rallied from a three-goal second-half deficit to tie the score at 11-11 with 12:23 to play.

Tullo (pictured above) scored off the ensuing draw, just 17 seconds later, to put Muhlenberg up again. The Fords tied the game for the final time at the 10:16 mark.

The game remained tied until Carson converted a free-position shot with 4:25 on the clock.

Segrave made five of her 19 saves after the go-ahead goal to preserve the lead. Haverford's final attempt to tie came in the final 20 seconds, but Segrave stopped a point-blank shot with her chest protector, and the Mules ran out the remaining time.

Segrave headed a defense - which included seniors Morgan Weiss (2 caused turnovers, 4 ground balls), Melissa Rudberg and Caroline Dolan (3 ground balls, 1 caused turnover) and juniors Kate O'Connell (2 ground balls, 1 caused turnover) and Crivelli (2 caused turnovers, 3 grounds balls) - that held the Fords, who came in 10th in Division III in scoring, five goals below their average.

Senior Erin Duca (6), junior Victoria Friedel (5) and Dolan (3) led Muhlenberg to a 15-12 advantage in draw controls.
