The Muhlenberg softball team took a short trip out of Centennial Conference play and dropped a pair of games at 10th-ranked Moravian, 3-0 and 8-2.
Sophomore
Sophie Chong pitched a solid game in the opener against a potent offense that ranks in the top five in Division III in both team batting average and scoring. It was only the third time in the Greyhounds' current 20-game winning streak that they were held to fewer than four runs. ChongÂ
(pictured above) allowed eight hits in tossing her seventh complete game of the season.
Muhlenberg's best chance to score came after senior
Kristina Qualben led off the seventh with her CC-leading 12th double of the season.
In the second game, the Mules (18-12) cut a 4-0 deficit in half by scoring twice in the top of the third. Senior
Kristy Selby brought in the first run with a bases-loaded single, and Qualben followed with a sacrifice fly.
The Greyhounds (25-3) pulled away by scoring four runs in the fourth through sixth innings.
Freshman
Sarah Karmazyn had two hits in the nightcap.
