Seven different players scored goals as the Muhlenberg men's soccer team cruised into the second round of the ECAC Tournament with a 9-1 win against Marymount.
Â
The Mules (10-6-2) advance to the quarterfinals to play New York University, a 2-1 winner against Hood, on Sunday at noon with a trip to the semifinals at stake.
Â
The nine goals broke the school record for a postseason game, set in a 6-1 win vs. Ursinus in a 1988 ECAC first-round contest.
Â
Muhlenberg rolled up an 18-5 advantage in shots against the Saints (10-10-1) and connected on half its attempts.

Chris Richards also found the back of the net for the Mules. Cimring opened the scoring just 5:38 into the game.
Â
Richards, the Centennial Conference rookie of the year, added two assists, giving him four points for the game and 28 for the season - just one short of the school record for freshmen.
Â
The Mules, who remained undefeated against non-CC opponents this season, have a 2-0-1 advantage in three all-time meetings with NYU, the last coming in 2010.
