The Muhlenberg men's soccer team led Haverford by two goals early in the second half, but the defending Centennial Conference champion came back for a stunning 3-2 win.
The Mules (6-2-2, 0-2-1) broke open a scoreless game late in the first half when junior
Victor Jacobs took a pass from sophomore
Noam Davidov and lobbed a shot that found net under the crossbar. It was the third career goal for Jacobs, who became the 14th different Muhlenberg player to score a goal this season - the first time that has happened since 2003.
Early in the second half, the Mules doubled their lead when a pair of freshmen,
Taylan Akdag and
Brandin Osborne, combined to set up sophomore
Stephen Carton on his fifth goal of the season. The assist gave Osborne, who was making his first career start, his first career point.
The Fords (4-3-2, 2-1) began their comeback on a penalty kick and tied the game less than five minutes later. The winner came on a header with 9:46 to play.
Muhlenberg had an 18-17 advantage in shots and took two shots with a chance to tie but could not connect.
Both teams entered the game ranked in the Mid-Atlantic Region, the Mules fifth and the Fords seventh.
