Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Grossman Breaks Men's Lacrosse Scoring Mark

Freshman Ethan Grossman recorded seven points to break the single-season scoring record as the Muhlenberg men's lacrosse fought to erase a big early deficit before eventually falling at fourth-ranked Gettysburg, 18-11.

Grossman (pictured above) had three goals for his fifth straight hat trick and added four assists - tying the school record for freshmen for the second time in three games - to run his season point total to 46. With six games remaining on the schedule, he is poised to put plenty of distance between himself and the old mark of 43. Grossman's 29 goals are seven shy of the school record.

Senior Niko Del Moro scored a pair of goals for the Mules (8-2, 0-2), who staged a valiant comeback effort after falling into a 10-2 hole three minutes into the second quarter.

Freshman Brandon Moyer netted his second goal of the season at the 12:45 mark to make it 10-3. Sophomore Frankie Feaster scored off the ensuing faceoff, giving Muhlenberg two goals in a seven-second span for the third consecutive game.

Del Moro's back-to-back goals completed a 4-0 run that made the score 10-6, and freshman Nate Emrick scored with 5:01 left in the half to bring the Mules to within three at 11-8.

The margin remained three (14-11) through the end of the third quarter, but the Bullets (10-1, 3-0) pulled away with four unanswered goals in the final period.

Gettysburg is second in the Centennial Conference in goals-against average and had never allowed more than six goals in a game to the Mules at home.

Feaster won 15 faceoffs and picked up nine ground balls. Sophomore Bobby McLoughlin finished with three points on a goal and two assists, and sophomore Frank Caterina added four ground balls.
