The Muhlenberg women's soccer team conceded a pair of first-half goals and got only half of them back in the second half, falling 2-1 at Wilkes to suffer its first loss of the season.

The Colonels, who in their opener tied 19th-ranked Penn State Berks, scored midway through the first half and with under 10 minutes on the clock to open up a 2-0 lead.

The Mules closed to within one just 6:35 into the second period when sophomore Alyssa Rose corralled a deflected pass in the box and buried a shot in the lower left side.

Muhlenberg took three shots with a chance to tie the rest of the way but was turned away each time.

Sophomore Marissa D'Alessandro recorded seven saves in goal.
