Timmy Pilrun pitched a five-hitter and sophomore
Stephen Koester drove in three runs with a pair of two-out hits late in the game as the Muhlenberg baseball team toppled Centennial Conference playoff contender Ursinus, 3-1.
The Bears (22-13, 9-7), who entered the game tied for second in the CC, scored a run in the third but no more against Pilrun. The southpaw struck out seven in his second straight complete game - his first career nine-inning complete game. Pilrun
(pictured above) worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth and retired 16 of the final 20 hitters he faced. He struck out two batters in the ninth and finished out the game by retiring Ursinus' leader in RBI on a fly ball with the tying runs on bases.
Held to one hit - a double by Koester - through the first six innings, the Mules (15-19, 5-11) broke through in the seventh. Walks to senior

Sam Arnold, followed by a wild pitch, put two runners in scoring position with two out. Koester fell behind 0-2, then worked the count full before singling up the middle to plate the tying and go-ahead runs.
Muhlenberg added insurance in the ninth when Yohe led off with a single, was sacrificed to second, and came in one out later on Koester's third hit of the game.
