Less than 24 hours after the Muhlenberg women's lacrosse team toppled top-ranked Gettysburg, the Mule men took to the same field to try to duplicate the upset. The 11th-ranked Bullets, however, scored six goals in the first quarter and went on to defeat the Mules, 17-6.
Senior
Brad D'Alessandro led Muhlenberg with three points on a goal and two assists, increasing his career total to 98. He needs two more to become the seventh player in program history to reach the century mark and will get a chance to do it at home when the Mules host Washington on Saturday.
Junior
Niko Del Moro scored two goals for his third multiple-goal game of the season, with freshmen
Frankie Feaster,
Declan Moylan and
Bobby McLoughlin adding goals. Freshman
Drew Rafferty assisted on McLoughlin's goal for his first career point.
Feaster also picked up nine ground balls and won 15 of 24 faceoffs. The 15 faceoff wins gave him 105 for the season, tying the school record for freshmen. His CC-leading total of 78 ground balls is the second-best in a season in program history.
Freshmen
Frank Caterina and
Paul Krueger scooped up four ground balls apiece. Junior
Lance Gibson tied his career high with 11 saves.
