The Muhlenberg baseball team came back from a five-run deficit and a two-run deficit in the first game of its doubleheader at McDaniel, but lost 11-10 on a ninth-inning walkoff two-run single. The Green Terror completed the sweep with a 4-2 win in the nightcap.
The Mules (13-15, 3-7) trailed 6-1 after two innings in the opener before scoring five in the third. Senior
Robbie Hopes drove in the first run of the inning with the second of his four hits in the game, and junior
Eric Reitmeyer, following up his 4-for-4 performance in
Friday's 8-5 win against Swarthmore, made it six hits in a row with an RBI single.
After a bases-loaded walk and a bases-loaded hit batter, senior
John Icaza brought in the tying run with a sacrifice fly.
McDaniel (11-16, 3-7) broke the 6-6 tie with a two-run homer in the fourth, but Muhlenberg came back to take a 10-8 lead with four in the sixth. Hopes led off the inning with a double and scored on a single by senior

John Serruto singled in the tying run, and sophomore
Jon Capra put the Mules on top with a two-run double.

Matthew D'Ambrosia pitched two scoreless innings in long relief to give the Mules the chance to come back.
McDaniel closed to within a run in the bottom of the eighth and won it in the ninth on a bases-loaded single that was just out of the reach of a diving Muhlenberg fielder.
Muhlenberg fell behind 4-0 after three innings in the second game and cut the deficit in half with a two-run fifth. Freshman

Chris Grillo.
The Mules loaded the bases in the sixth and put runners on in the seventh and ninth but could not push any more home.

Hopes went 2-for-5 in the second game to complete a 6-for-10 day and 8-for-13 weekend.
