The Muhlenberg softball team played its first home games of the 2017 season, dropping both games of the doubleheader to Misericordia.
The Mules (5-9) took a 2-0 lead in the first game when sophomore
Kristina Qualben cranked a solo shot over the left field wall for her eighth career home run, moving her into third on the Mules' career home run list. The Cougars (6-8), however, came back to score the final three runs and win, 3-2.
Misericordia then won game two by a score of 10-1. Qualben

Hanna Caiola smacked back-to-back doubles in the third inning for the Mules' lone run.
Five Mules had hits in both games. Caiola, junior
Karissa Astrella and senior
Courtney Simon each doubled in game one, and Astrella and Simon each added a single in the second game.
Junior
Paige Seitz brought home the first run of the day for Muhlenberg, hitting a sacrifice fly to center that allowed Caiola to score in the second inning.
Junior
Haley Fedak started the first game on the mound and struck out five batters while giving up four hits and two runs in 4
1/3 innings. Freshman
Nicole Bergamo came in relief in both games, only allowing one run on four hits and two walks over the course of four total innings.
