The Washington men's soccer team scored on the first shot of the game and went on to defeat Muhlenberg, 2-0, in the season finale for both teams.
The loss snapped a five-game unbeaten streak for the Mules (6-8-3, 2-5-2) and foiled their chances at finishing the season with a .500 record after being 2-7-2 at one point.
Despite a 7-2 advantage in shots in the first half, Muhlenberg could not equalize the early goal by the Shoremen (6-10-1, 3-6), who doubled their lead on a penalty kick with under seven minutes to play.
