The Muhlenberg baseball team came back twice but not a third time and dropped a Centennial Conference game at Swarthmore, 7-5.
Trailing 2-0 after three, the Mules (15-16, 6-5) took the lead by scoring four runs with two outs in the top of the fourth. Junior
Eric Reitmeyer tied the game with a bases-loaded double, and freshman
Chris Grillo brought in the go-ahead run with an infield single. Reitmeyer scored the fourth run on a wild pitch.
The Garnet (19-14, 3-8) quickly went back in front by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The score remained 5-4 until the top of the seventh, when back-to-back two-out doubles by freshman

John Icaza tied the game at 5-5.
Swarthmore scored the winning runs in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run homer. Muhlenberg got the tying run to the plate in the eighth and ninth but could not cash in.
