In its final match before traveling to California, the Muhlenberg volleyball team defeated Bryn Mawr in four sets.
The 25-21, 23-25, 25-12, 25-12 victory was marked by the full return of senior
Allison Glass to the lineup. A two-time All-Centennial Conference hitter, she began the season injured and had played only a handful of points. She played her first full match against Bryn Mawr, recording 11 kills without an error in only 19 attempts for a .579 hitting percentage.
Freshman
Maggie Enestvedt led the Mules (12-4, 4-1) with a match-high 17 kills, and sophomore
Kelly Tornetta added 10 to give Muhlenberg three players with double figures in kills. Sophomore
Erica Schultz added 9 kills with just one error and hit .381.
Sophomore
Shannon Hubert had her third straight match with 40 or more assists, finishing with 42, and senior
Elizabeth Garrison led the defense with 21 digs.
After the teams split the first two sets, the Mules wasted little time establishing control in the third set, jumping out to a 7-0 lead with Hubert serving.
Muhlenberg also opened up a big early advantage in the fourth set, building a 14-5 lead behind long service runs by freshman
Madison Forrest and Enestvedt. Hubert served out the final five points of the match, assisting Tornetta for a kill on the final point.
The Mules leave campus Thursday morning for four days in the Los Angeles area, where they will play four matches at the University of La Verne.
