The Muhlenberg women's soccer team battled with Gettysburg in an important Centennial Conference match for the final playoff spot and fell victim to an early second-half goal in its 1-0 road defeat.
The Mules (4-7-3, 1-4-3 CC) and the Bullets (7-6-1, 3-3-1 CC) were both held scoreless in the first half before Gettysburg broke through with a score in the 50th minute to win the match.
Muhlenberg's best scoring chance came in the 24th minute. Freshman forward
Danni Steigerwald (pictured above) fired Muhlenberg's lone shot on goal to try to take the lead, but the Gettysburg goalkeeper extended on a dive to stop the shot.
After Gettysburg scored, Steigerwald and freshman back
Casarah Morales each attempted a shot that missed to the right to represent Muhlenberg's scoring chances in the second half.

Marissa D'Alessandro saved eight Bullet shots in the loss.
