Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Rindock Records Double-Double in Loss

Box Score

Despite a double-double from sophomore Nick Rindock and a pair of second-half runs, the Muhlenberg men's basketball team fell to 13-3 Swarthmore, 76-62.

Rindock finished with a game-high 24 points and a career-high 10 rebounds for his second career double-double. His first, last year against Dickinson, was a points-assists double-double. Playing against one of the top defensive teams in Division III, Rindock (pictured above) shot 8-of-13 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range.

Junior Jon Schreer also scored in double figures, with 11 points to go along with five assists, while junior John Hunter finished with seven points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

Behind five points from Rindock, the Mules (7-8, 4-5) jumped out to a 13-5 lead against a Garnet team that entered ranked in the top 10 in Division III in scoring defense and field-goal percentage defense. Swarthmore (13-3, 7-2) responded with a 12-0 run to take the lead and extended its margin to 10 by halftime.

Down 19 with 14:39 to play in the game, Muhlenberg cut the lead to 10 at the 11-minute mark on a three by Rindock. The Garnet went back up by 14 before sophomore Owen McLeod's second three-pointer of the game trimmed the bulge to seven points, at 57-50, with 5:55 left.

After calling a timeout, Swarthmore scored the next five points and pulled away for the win.

The Mules had a 35-32 advantage on the boards against the Garnet, who came in fifth in Division III in rebounding margin.
