Despite a late goal, the Muhlenberg women's soccer team came up short in its bid for its first win of the season, falling 2-1 at Lebanon Valley.
The undefeated Dutchmen, who are ranked 10th in the Mid-Atlantic Region, scored once in the first half and once in the second to open up a 2-0 lead.
Less than four minutes after the second goal, junior
Abby Lazofsky (pictured above) connected for her seventh career goal, cutting the gap in half with 6:09 to play. The Mules never got a shot at a tying goal, though, as the ball stayed on their end of the field the rest of the way.
Senior
Jen Mermelstein made a season-high six saves.
The Mules have played five straight games in which both teams scored, their longest streak since 1998. Just three years ago, they played 16 consecutive games that ended in a shutout one way or another.
