Box ScoreBehind another history-making performance from sophomore
Brandi Vallely, the Muhlenberg women's basketball team breezed to a 78-50 win against Franklin & Marshall in its first Centennial Conference game of the season.
Vallely finished with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for her third triple-double in four games this season. That gives her one more triple-double than every other Mule women's basketball player in program history combined. Since the NCAA began tracking triple-doubles in 2010-11, Vallely is the first Division III women's player to record more than two in a season.
Vallely even flirted with a quadruple-double, recording seven steals to lead a defense that held the Diplomats (0-5) to 28.2-percent shooting.
Senior
Christina Santone notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, adding five blocked shots. Freshman
Amanda Morello (pictured above) came close to a double-double in only 13 minutes of playing time, ending up with eight points and nine rebounds.
Sophomore
Rachel Plotke drained a three-pointer 12 seconds into the game, and the Mules (4-0) were off and running. They led 28-9 at the end of a first quarter in which they committed neither a foul nor a turnover and opened the second quarter on a 14-2 run to extend their lead to 31 just 15 minutes into the game.
Muhlenberg shot 56.8 percent from the field in the first half and took a 52-16 lead into the locker room.
In their last three games, the Mules have outscored their opponents by an average of 28.3 points.
