Box ScoreThe Muhlenberg volleyball swept into Fall Break with its fourth straight win, a 3-0 home sweep of Bryn Mawr.
Coming on the heels of 3-0 wins against Dickinson and Washington last week, it was the third straight Centennial Conference sweep for the Mules - something they hadn't done since 1995. And it set the team up for its Fall Break trip to upstate New York, where it will face three teams with a combined record of 45-13, inlcuding 18th-ranked Clarkson.
Junior
Allison Glass (pictured above) led the Mules (13-5, 4-2) with 15 kills, while senior
Joanne Josephson added nine in only 15 attempts to go along with five blocks.
Senior
Chelsea Kaser recorded 14 digs to move to within 17 of the school record, and freshman
Shannon Hubert contributed 21 assists and eight digs.
Muhlenberg pulled away late in the first set, scoring three straight points off errors by the Owls (6-10, 1-3) to extend a 17-15 lead to 20-15. It was 21-17 before two kills by Josephson and two by freshman
Kelly Tornetta closed out the set.
Behind the serving of senior
Vanessa Pulice, the Mules built an early 11-2 lead in the second set and went on to win, 25-17. Glass had eight kills in the third set alone, including five in a match-ending 10-1 run, and finished off the match by combining with Josephson for a block.
