Junior Abby Lazofsky and senior Taylor Pini scored goals 85 seconds apart late in the first half to account for all the scoring by the Muhlenberg women's soccer team in a 2-0 win at Moravian.

With the win, Muhlenberg opened a 4-1 lead in the 2015-16 Matte Award standings. The next Matte contests - four of them - are on November 14, in women's cross country, men's cross country, football and women's basketball.

Lazofsky headed in a corner kick by sophomore Carly DeNigris for her 10th career goal with 3:24 left in the first half. With 1:59 on the clock, Pini (pictured above) knocked in a long crossing pass from sophomore Phoebe Shields for her 10th career goal.

That was plenty for the Mule defense, which held the Greyhounds (4-9-2) to five shots on goal. Senior Jen Mermelstein made four saves for ninth career shutout.

The win gave Muhlenberg (5-11-1) a season sweep of Lehigh Valley rivals DeSales and Moravian for the first time since 2006.
