A silver and a bronze highlighted the first day of the Centennial Conference Championships for the Muhlenberg track and field teams.
Senior
Jarred Ford won the silver in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 13-1¾. It was the second career medal for Ford
(pictured above right), who earned bronze at the CC outdoor championships last spring. He topped his previous best of 12-11½ on his first attempt to land in ninth place on the Mules' all-time performance list.Â
Junior
Elek Ferency captured bronze in the hammer throw at 142-3 in wet conditions. It was his fourth career CC medal and his second straight bronze in the hammer. Ferency was one of three Muhlenberg placewinners in the men's hammer, with sophomore
Dylan DeMagistris coming in fifth and junior
Shawn Bolger placing eighth with a mark of 121-8, an improvement of more than nine feet on his previous best and the fourth-best ever by a Mule.
The women also had success in the hammer. Sophomore
Faith Fezenko (pictured above left)Â placed fourth and senior
Corrin Ferrizzi finished seventh.
