The women's track and field team broke two school records at the Muhlenberg Outdoor Invitational.
Overall, it was a big day for both Mule teams, with four first-place finishes, six regional qualifiers and 24 new or improved Centennial Conference qualifiers.
Sophomore
Faith Fezenko claimed the school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 129-5, a huge leap from her previous personal best of 100-0. Senior
Corrin Ferrizzi also topped the previous school record, which she set last week, at 127-1.
The other school record came from the distance medley relay team of senior
Marielle Avola, junior
Adrienne Ellison, freshman
Erin Jackson and senior
Abby Dalton. The foursome took first place in 12:48.82, breaking by more than 20 seconds the record set 33 years ago.
It was one of two first-place finishes for Dalton, who also won the 1500 meters. Avola
(pictured above right) also set a personal best in the steeplechase, moving from fifth to third on the all-time performance list.
The men had two first-place finishers as well, sophomore
Noel House in the javelin and senior
Ben Arehart in the high jump.
