The Muhlenberg track and field teams won a gold and two silvers on the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships.
Senior
Ben Arehart cleared 6-6 to defend the high jump title he won outdoors last spring. He is the second member of the Mule men's team to win a gold in the high jump both indoors and outdoors. Arehart has four career medals in the high jump, two golds and two bronzes.
Junior
John Panny, who missed out on a medal by one place in the triple jump on the first day of the meet, came in second in the long jump. The silver is the highest medal of his career; he previously won bronze indoors in the triple jump and outdoors in the long jump.
Senior
Kayleigh Durning won her second career silver medal, coming in second in the 60-meter hurdles. Her other silver came outdoors in the 100-meter hurdles last spring. Durning also has two bronzes in the hurdles to her credit.
Pictured above with their medals are Mule medalists Arehart, Panny, Durning and
Dylan DeMagistris, who took bronze in the weight throw on the first day of the meet.
The Muhlenberg men came in seventh, just four-tenths of a point behind sixth-place Franklin & Marshall. Sophomore
JJ Ramirez-Rojas (sixth in the 100) and junior
Russell Neuwirth (seventh in the 400) scored points in open events on the second day. Ramirez-Rojas narrowly missed placing in a field event too, coming in ninth in the long jump. Neuwirth also anchored the fifth-place 4x400 relay team.
Junior
Noah Halterman-Mitchell ran on two placewinning relay teams and came in ninth in the 800.
For the women, senior
Abby Dalton placed seventh in the mile and ran on the sixth-place 4x800 relay team. She now has placed in an event 11 times in her career.
