The Muhlenberg track and field teams had another strong meet at Lehigh's John & Carol Covert Classic, their final tuneup before hosting the Centennial Conference Championships next weekend.
Competing against six Division I schools, the Mules combined for 33 season-best performances, seven all-time top 10 performances and three regional qualifiers.
The women were led by two impressive doubles by juniorsÂ
Abby Dalton (pictured above left) in the 800 and 1500Â and
Kayleigh Durning in the 200 and 100 high hurdles.
Senior
Jill Lissner improved her personal best in the hammer by more than 9 feet to move into second place on the all-time performance list.Â
For the men, freshman
Sam McDonough (110 high hurdles), junior
Ben Arehart (high jump) and sophomore
Elek Ferency, posted regional-qualifying marks. McDonough finished in 15.38, hurdling from ninth to fourth on the performance list, and Arehart, the defending CC field athlete of the week, improved his personal best from 6-4 to 6-4¾. Ferency added a foot to his best in the shot put, to 48-8¼ - third-best all-time.
Senior
Zach LillÂ
(pictured above right) cleared 14-3¼ in the pole vault, adding two inches to his personal best. Sophomore
John Panny (ninth to fifth in the long jump) and junior
Shawn Bolger (seventh to sixth in the hammer) also climbed the performance list.
