Muhlenberg senior Rachel Strow was selected as the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III offensive player of the week. She is the first player in program history to be named national player of the week.
Previously named Centennial Conference player of the week, Strow led the Mules to a pair of victories last week by scoring all five of her team's goals in wins over King's and McDaniel.
In Tuesday's matchup with King's, she scored the first goal of the contest in the 58th minute before tallying the winner with 6.4 seconds left in the first overtime of the 2-1 victory. Strow followed it up with her first career hat trick against McDaniel on Friday, breaking a 1-1 tie in the 50th minute and tallying an insurance goal in the 67th minute of the 3-1 victory.
Strow leads the Centennial Conference and is tied for fifth in Division III with nine goals this season.
Muhlenberg (5-0) is off to its best start since 2003 and is one spot away from the top 20 in the NFHCA Division III poll. After four straight road games, the Mules return home to play their Homecoming match against Johns Hopkins Friday night in a key Centennial Conference contest.
