In her first competition of the 2016-17 season, Aine Filler picked up right where she left off last year.

The Muhlenberg sophomore shot a 7-over-par 79 to win the McDaniel Fall Invitational. Filler tied two other golfers and was awarded the medal on a match of cards.

Filler's 79 matched the career low she set last year in winning the Muhlenberg Invitational. She has finished in the top five in eight of her 10 career tournaments, including a second-place finish at the 2016 Centennial Conference Championships.

The Mules came in fifth out of seven teams in a close race that saw the second- through fifth-place schools separated by just 10 strokes. Muhlenberg's team score of 351 tied the school record for lowest round, set in the first round of the 2007 CC Championships.

Freshman Kat Hodges shot an 87 in her debut for the Mules. Junior Maria Horvath finished with a 90, just two strokes off her season low of last year. Senior Emily Unrue carded a 95, and junior Ashley Noel set a new career low at 106.
